Kristy S. Garner, EdS
BIOGRAPHY
My name is Kristy Garner and I am a Media Specialist candidate at Georgia Southern University. I first received a Bachelors degree in Middle Grades Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Soon I went back to school to earn a Masters in Middle Grades from the same university. After a few years I decided to earn a Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Georgia Southern University. While working on my EdS, I decided to also earn a Media Specialist add-on as well as an Educational Leadership add-on. I have been teaching at Effingham County Middle School for thirteen years. My teaching experiences include eighth grade remedial math, regular math, Algebra and literature, seventh grade remedial math, and sixth grade remedial math, science, social studies, and literature. I am currently a special education teacher in sixth grade math, seventh grade math, and eighth grade English co-teaching classes. I also teach a sixth grade resource social studies class. I am currently working on a media specialist certification and will hopefully complete all requirements to be certified by December 2013.
